F1 – Gian Carlo Minardi “Con queste regole non c’è spazio per i giovani”

La diminuzioni dei costi è sempre un tema di grande attualità in Formula 1, soprattutto in questo periodo di crisi economica. Negli ultimi anni Bernie Eccleston ha cercato di far diminuire i costi in Formula 1, proponendo anche un tetto ai budgets dei team o addirittura budgets uguali per tutti. Proprio in questi giorni sembra invece aver fatto marcia indietro, lasciando campo libero ai team purchè questi si impegnino a rimanere in F1 per un lungo periodo

“In questo momento Eccleston fa parte della confusione che regna in Formula 1, in quanto mi sembrano proposte un po’ strane. Faccio fatica ad immaginare che un team, pur supportato dalla casa automobilistica, possa far un investimento così a lungo termine. 10 anni vuol dire un’altra generazione e altri tipi di problemi” Dichiara l’ex costruttore faentino Gian Carlo Minardi “In questo momento non è etico non prendere in esame quello che la FOTA sta facendo per diminuire i costi e i budgets. Ad oggi un taglio dei costi di un 20-30% può avvenire senza alcuna conseguenza tecnico-sportiva, visto gli alti sprechi. Bisogna continuare su questa strada anche se sono contrario quando si dice di voler fissare un tetto agli stipendi dei piloti senza poi dare la possibilità ai giovani di esprimersi al volante di una vettura di F1. Con queste regole difficilmente un team potrà utilizzare un terzo pilota, in quanto a mio avviso è stato gestito in malo modo la questione dei chilometri per le prove, portandoli così ad utilizzare soli i piloti ufficiali. Oggi ci sono 18 piloti (senza contare quindi la Honda) che fra un anno avranno un potere contrattuale ancora maggiore in quanto un team non punterà su un rooky senza esperienza…… ci sono troppi controsensi.

Sono per rivedere le regole sportive, che devono essere proposte da addetti ai lavori che in questo momento non hanno dei ruoli in un team di F1, in maniera tale che non si possano fare dei favoritismi. Anche se non mi è mai stato facile andare d’accordo con Ron Dennis, questa volta concordo con lui quando afferma che il presidente della FIA non può essere un ex dirigente di un team, in quanto non potrà mai essere pienamente obiettivo. La stessa cosa vale proprio per le regole: tolto il fatto che è giusto ascoltare le priorità di ogni squadra, ci deve essere un gruppo di lavoro che conosce l’ambiente e i suoi problemi. Solo in questo modo si possono trovare soluzioni idonee. ”

“Per tornare al discorso sui giovani in questo momento in Italia abbiamo due tipi di generazioni: piloti che hanno già mostrato le loro capacità, come Andrea Caldarelli, Mirko Bortolotti, Davide Rigon e Davide Valsecchi che con poco potrebbero ambire ad entrare nella massima serie e, alle loro spalle, dei giovanissimi (classe 1992) con grandi potenzialità.

La politica che ha messo in atto la CSAI in questi anni darà la possibilità di avere nel medio termine piloti estremamente competitivi: la F.3 Italia sta crescendo molto bene, si sta studiando una nuova Formula per i giovani che dovrebbe partire nel 2010 e si stanno cercando di mettere in atto delle sinergie per aiutare i piloti che hanno già raggiunto dei buoni obiettivi. Tutto questo però andrà a scontrarsi con quello che sono i nuovi regolamenti del circus”
