F3 – A further step forward for Nicholas Latifi in Misano

The race week-end at the Misano circuit named after Marco Simoncelli has given to Nicholas Latifi the awareness of working in the right direction, even if the final spoil hasn’t fully reflected all the expressed abilities.

The young Italo-Canadian racer has taken part in the fourth round of Italian F3 European Series with the aim of continuing his professional growth behind the wheel of a F3 car and building on the experience gained in the first half of the season. Since free practices, the JD Motorsport standard-bearer has come to the fore by setting the third best race time of the day and has subsequently succeeded in starting from the third row in race 1 and 2, after the two qualifying sessions.
The great satisfaction comes with the sprint race when the 17-year-old driver, spurting from the last row after an unlucky event occurred in race 1, finally goes up to the fifth place.
Nicholas Latifi: “ In Misano my aim was to obtain a solid result and improve my feeling with the car by working in harness with my engineer and the team on car balance. Finishing race-3 in fifth place just after spurting from the last row is a good result. Now I’m looking forward to go back to work before getting into the next race.”
Giovanni Minardi ( sport advisor): “ Each race week end Nicholas is improving his performance and his feeling with the car. We don’t have to forget that he comes from karting, so he has much to learn. In the last races, the chronometric gap between him and top drivers has decreased and in Misano he’s taken a further step forward in this direction. Now we’re getting into the second part of the Championship and I’m sure he will make further improvements as a result of the work done and the experience gained in these few months.”
Next F3 race will take place at the Red Bull Ring in Zeltweg on August the 5th
